Lisa Chavis Ray is a nationally certified retired social studies teacher,
with 26 years experience in the South Carolina public school system.
She has two beautiful daughters, and a son-in-law, all of whom she is extraordinarily proud.  She is blessed to have the support of an exceptional family unit that includes a brother and a sister, their spouses, nephews, and nieces. She also has two hairy adopted children, Daisy and Molly, who although are a different species, give her unconditional love and make her family complete.  One of her greatest hopes is that her life and her work reflect the strong Christian values and faith on which she was raised, and through which she still relies.  Her passions include teaching, education, writing, history, and nature.  Although no longer in a public school classroom, she continues to teach in her church, and creates standard based lesson plans for SC ETV.  Her four books, Once Upon a Time Ya’ll, The Joshua Tree, Happy Tails, and Blossom The Opossum Takes A Vacation are a perfect blending of the passions that define her life.
Lisa resides in Chapin, South Carolina.
